Mechteld has many years experience as a ballet dancer, choreographer, entertainer and with theatre dance. She participated in countless national and international dance competitions. Even as a professional dancer, she became very successful As a professional dancer she was always looking for something inspiring and dynamic. A few years later she came in contact with salsa and a new love was born. She concludes that salsa was exactly what she were looking for. After intensive salsa study in Holland and abroad as a salsa teacher, she established her own dance school and formation team.
In this period she started a close cooperation with Brian Libier.

The reward for all her hard work came in 2006, when she received an award for Holland's best salsa instructor. Mechteld's specialization is foot technique, body-isolation and styling. The theme of her life is dance.

Mostly seen in Salsa festivals in Western Europe and Northern Europe.
