Artists In Motion 2019: Alison Cook Beatty Dance And Guest Artists
The upcoming Alison Cook Beatty Dance season will allow audiences to view a great variety of dance performances created by choreographers exploring the human condition. Alison Cook Beatty Dance will present two different programs across four nights along with dancers from around the world. Opening night November 2nd will feature guest artist Mr. Igal Perry/Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and honorary guest Ms. Graciela Kozak.
Other renowned guest companies and choreographers include: Laura Katz Rizzo, Junichi Fukuda/Fukudance, Celeste Lanuza/Celeste Lanuza Dance Theatre, Ignatova Anastasia, Alessandra Corona Performing Works-ACPW, Natalie Flynn/The Fun Dolls, Ariel Grossman/Ariel Rivka Dance, Marlene Skog Dance, Ayako Takahashi/Ayalis In Motion, Chris Ferris/Chris Ferris and Dancers.
This season in Program B, Artistic Director Alison Cook-Beatty will be choreographing a NEW WORK in collaboration with Shem Guibbory, Artistic Director of Innovative Music Programs. Mr. Guibbory is an internationally acclaimed violinist who is a member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Major support for this work has been generously provided by Deborah and Charles Adelman. Ms. Cook-Beatty is delighted to work with costume designer Christine Darch on the Company's 5th project.
Other Alison Cook Beatty Dance repertoire featured in Program B includes BANSHEE'S LAMENTATION, with live musicians Eunbi Kim, Kate Amrine, and Jessica Wang, as well as SEELE, a new work recently performed at the American Dance Guild.
In Program A, Alison will premiere her second NEW WORK to an original score created by composer Stanislav Fridman; LIFELINE, which was showcased at The Dumbo Dance Festival; BEHIND THE CURVE, a piece mentored by Bessie Award Winning choreographer Doug Varone, and made possible by the support of Joan Bowman; and WHALE, a group piece with new costumes designed by Adrienne Perry.
